San Saba River Ranch

Location: Approximately 2 hours from San Antonio, Texas; 2 hours from Austin, Texas; 20 minutes from Mason, Texas; 20 minutes from Menard, Texas; 25 minutes to Brady, Texas

Land: Gently rolling land spotted with Live and Post Oaks, as well as a few native pecan tress along the river. A spectacular grove of trees in the NE quadrant along the river includes Oaks, Giant Elms, and native Pecans. A fair amount of brushy shrubs (Juniper, Whitebrush, prickly pear, and some Mesquite) are scattered about creating just enough habitat for the local wildlife to thrive.

Wildlife: An abnormally large population of Rio Grande turkey call this area home. They roost up and down the river and they can be heard often throughout the day. Feral hogs, Whitetail deer, quail, Jackrabbits, and an array of varmints abound as well.

Water: Approximately 6500′ of the famed San Saba River, often referred to as one of Texas’ best kept secrets. It’s known for its clarity and limestone-lined bottom. From long, deep pools to shallow ripples and falls this river is sure to impress. Limestone cliff faces along the river are dramatic and conjure up the days when cowboys and Indians were roaming the territory.

LOCATION: Approximately 22 miles from Llano, 29 miles from Fredericksburg, a little over 90 miles from Austin, and 99 miles from San Antonio puts Bullhead Creek Ranch smack dab in the heart of all things Hill Country.

DESCRIPTION: Bullhead Creek Ranch has gently sloping terrain with the bulk of the property sloping towards the creek. There are a couple of standout view spots that would make ideal homesites. Cottonwood Creek merges with Bullhead Creek on the ranch and the creekbed, while not flowing most of the time, is a very unique feature. Its approximately 200 wide and winds over mile through the ranch. BCR also boasts numerous large, majestic hardwoods from 100 year old live oaks to giant Elms to a handful of Blackjack Oaks.
The ranch has only been moderately hunted over the last several years making it a safe haven for local wildlife. Neighbors have seen free-ranging aoudad and axis, but there are no reports of exotics calling BCR home year-round.

LOCATION: This neat little ranch is located just over a mile due North of Enchanted Rock State Park. 6 miles from pavement, 12 miles from State Highway 16 and Highway 2323, being about 25 miles S of Llano (world-class BBQ, supplies, restaurants, groceries) and about 40 miles from fantastic Fredericksburg (upscale shops, restaurants, hospital, jet airport, university, big box stores). Enchanted Lake Ranch is accessible seclusion at its finest.
This is about 95 miles NW of Austin (State Capitol, international airport, advanced medical facilities, several universities) and 115 miles N of San Antonio (nations 7th largest city). Horseshoe Bay, a major golfing destination, is 45 minutes away to the east.
The area consists primarily of medium to large working/recreational ranches and a handful of smaller acreage tracts with home sites overlooking the Rock. Hunting and agriculture make up the bulk of the local economy.

Location: Located in Blanco County, 9.5 miles West of Blanco, Texas. Crabapple Creek Ranch is 30 miles Southeast of Fredericksburg, 55 miles from Austin and 52 miles from San Antonio.
Description: 133 acres are West of Crabapple Road and 85 acres on the East side of Crabapple Road. Both sides offer approximately 140 in elevation change and provide classic, stunning Hill Country views.
The West side of the ranch is, for the most part, unimproved. It has an old barn, windmill, well, and cistern for storing water. The windmill is currently not operational.
The East side of the ranch has two productive Coastal Bermuda pastures, one field is approximately 10 and the other is approximately 30 acres.
Ranch roads throughout the ranch are good to fair and provide access to a good majority of the property. One or two of the trails require 4 wheel drive, but are by no means inaccessible. While there are numerous hardwoods (Live Oaks, Elms, and Red Oaks), a good portion of the ranch is covered in cedar.
