Another local boy who made his way over the Diekes field of dreams was none other than President Lyndon B. Johns. His family ranch was just down the road (Highway 290). Four-year-old LBJ even mailed his first letter at the Hye Post Office, which is still operational today. Hiram G. Brown, nicknamed Hye established the post office and general store in 1886.
